weather in Greece in Feb or March

We would like to go to Greece in either February or March. Can anyone give us an idea of the weather in Athens, and along the mediterranean islands at that time of the year ? We are ok with 55 to 60 degrees

You can get historical weather data for Athens here: http://tinyurl.com/ht8h65l

Change the location to check for individual island weather history.

I use www.weatherbase.com for planning my trips, but there are plenty of reliable weather websites.

You seem obsessed about weather patterns.
I learnt many years ago not to rely on the average weather patterns stated in guide books. The same goes for a weather history site. No one can give you an answer.

February is the coldest month in Greece. There will be snow in the mountains, but coastal areas are milder. I see from brotherleelove's link that there was snow in Athens a couple of times in Feb 2015, and that is not unusual. The more southerly islands will be a little warmer, but don't expect Florida temperatures, because Greece is at about the same latitude as North Carolina.

If you must travel in February or March, leave it as late as you can.

February is indeed the coldest time to come, even over here on Corfu. Although we don't get snow here, the windchill factor off the snow covered mountains on the mainland make a big difference! That said, we can also get beautiful clear days full of sunshine.
I would definitely hold off until late March if you can, once spring arrives things warm up pretty quickly and it is beautiful then.

Of course, asking about likely weather is perfectly legitimate -- and is covered in almost all decent guidebooks and on multiple websites, to which some of us have directed you on your thread about temperatures in Spain.

February and March are cold months, so defenitely you need warm sweaters and warm clothes! But do not forget that Greece is not that cold country as Finland, Russia, Canada!
Also, especially on March you will see a lot of rains and sometimes snow.... in Athens does not snow like being in danger or worries, but if you are lucky, maybe you see some!

@ HappyTrvlr: ??? Many Greek islands are in the Aegean, but there are some in the Ionian Sea and the Saronic Gulf -- or at least, that's what my maps say!

And a case could be made that Crete is in the Mediterranean Sea.

<i>"Correction, the Greek Islands are in the Aegean Sea."</i>

And the Aegean Sea is a subdivision of the Mediterranean Sea (so is the Ionian, Adriatic, etc)
