Of course it will be cold. Days are very short. Copenhagen will be illuminated, around Nyhaven, the restaurants have Christmas buffets - with marinated hering and special christmas beer. Tivoli has has christmas market, but it is otherwise closed. The mermaid won't be frozen, but it is not spectacular anyway. I always found Copenhagen quite festive in December-
thank you traveller1959. Im a wee bit dissapointed though.
Disappointed by what? Tivoli? No one is going to want to spend time in an outdoor amusement park in the cold and snow. And most of the reason to go is the beautiful gardens, band concerts, rides and games - none of which could operate then.
FYI - the average high is 4 and the average low is zero - with 17 days of precipitation and an average of 3 hours of sunlight per day (out of the total of 7 hours of daylight). (Shorter daylight hours than NE US - but not really much colder.)
How much the weather will bother you depends on 1) what are used to and 2) if you're a delicate flower.
