We are back!

Jump to last reply

It's been a week since we came back from our month in Sicily and 3 days in Madrid.
Trip was too short and I'm already planning next year trip for just my daughter and I as my son hopefully will be working and maybe joining for 2 weeks.

I will try to put a trip report and see how I can upload pics somewhere for you to see soon.

My highlights were Ortigia, Gnaxos, Cefalu!!, Agrigento!! San Vito, Erice and Trapani!!!
The down garbage, garbage, everywhere.
I don't know how many miles I put driving 20 days, I drove all over Sicily and I'm impressed with the constructions of the autostradas, if nobody has noticed before all are over pilars, most of the driving on them is always on high man made construction, little on solid ground all over the island.

Madrid was great as I mentioned before I'm from Santiago, Chile founded with Spaniards and Madrid reminded of my Santiago, but on steroids. Love the city, the vibe, everything. The bad the craziness at the airport and the really bad attitude of the AA Spanish young man, also I sprained and almost broke my ankle and foot leaving the apt while moving luggage in the taxi, so after a long 20 hrs trip I literally went to the ER from airport at 2am, currently foot in a boot no driving for 2 weeks.

Next year we are flying to/from Barcelona so I will plan trip accordingly from there, I would love to go back to Trapani at least for 3 days, I just loved that town and Erice.
