Waterloo Re-Enactment travel

Jump to last reply

We have tickets to attend the 200 year anniversary re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo on Friday and Saturday, 19 and 20 June. We are staying at a house in Rixensart and will have a car. The Waterloo Re-Enactment people say that 130,000 people are expected at the re-enactment, so we would like to avoid driving in Waterloo as I can't imagine how clogged the roads will be. Question: if we drove to Nivelles and took the train to Brain L'Alleud, is there much parking at the Nivelles train station? I am hoping that Nivelles is far enough out of Waterloo, and to the south and not toward Brussels, that we could leave the car there - but how much parking is available at the train station? Thanks for any help!
