Which of these places would you choose to visit in October? I haven't been to Poland, Serbia or Romania. I will visit Brasov and Bran Castle from Bucharest and I'm not sure which sights I can visit from Warsaw or Belgrade. Please don't suggest I fly to Krakow instead, I would like to see this city one day, but I can't fly there using my miles, the only places I can fly to with miles based on the rules of my ff ticket are Warsaw, Belgrade or Bucharest. I will spend 3 days/4 nights in either of these places.
I realize these are some of the lesser visited places in Europe, any advice from fodorites who have been to any of these places will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Warsaw, Belgrade or Bucharest

Hi; You can get information on each of these cities on this site. www.inyourpocket.com Also on this site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/warsaw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/bucharest and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/belgrade Richard
I haven't been to Bucharest or Belgrade, but was underwhelmed by Warsaw. I found it to be very touristy - the old town had a somewhat Disney-esque feel to it because of the rebuilding. I spent two night in Warsaw and felt I saw everything - 4 nights would be a long time.
Not sure how much that helps, but it might be best to save Poland for your Krakow visit (a wonderful city).
I too was not impressed by Warsaw. the "old town" looks hopelessly fake because all the buildings have same "finish". If I were going back I would try harder to visit the Bialowieza National Park, which protects a remnant of Europe's original forest, but it's a bit of pain to get to.
I didn't go to Bucharest, which doesn't sound too exciting either, but I loved northern Romania.
Hi; I can just comment on Warsaw, as that's the only one of the cities you mentioned that we have visited. Never wanted to go there, as the old city was destroyed in WW11. But we did stop for two nights. I considered that the town was destroyed and thought that the reconstruction was incredible. We could have used three nights, not sure about four. Saw a wonderful Chopin concert on a Sunday afternoon in a park [free]. View 'In your Pocket' [click on Warsaw and then 'instant' for a free download] and the 'Wikipedia' sites to see what can be visited outside of Warsaw for a day trip, to help you decide. Richard
Thanks for all the replies. I have read guides about the city's the reason I started this thread is to get comments from travellers who have actually visited these places. Honestly, none of them seem to have alot to offer a traveller.
Three days isn't long either. I think I might pick Belgrade (although I haven't been) on the grounds that it's changing fastest. Lonely Planet claims it has good food...
