Wanted - 3 bed apartment in Paris

Hi all, a friend of mine is going to spend a week in Paris next June. With her will be her husband plus their two adult children and their partners.

They would like a 3 bed, 2 bathroom apartment close to the usual attractions.

Their travel agent sent them details on one that was a bit odd. It met their requirements but was a 4th floor walk up (aaargh!!!) and reading between the lines, one of the bedrooms is a mezzanine room without a bedroom door that overlooks the downstairs living rooms.

I've checked Paris Perfect and have sent her details of theirs that meet the requirements but thought it wise to ask here as well. I don't think budget is particularly restricted. They will pay what is needed to be comfortable.

Thanks in advance, Cathie

Also re those 'mezzanine' bedrooms (which are fairly common) they often have VERY low ceilings. Like 4 feet. Just space for a mattress. I'd avoid anything like that.

The best 3 bdrm I personally know was just converted to long term rental

Paris Perfect would be a really good resource . . . .

Try www.tripseurope.com. They have large apartments. My sister rented a three bedroom from them and was happy with it. The Trips Europe apartments are expensive though not more expensive than Paris Perfect's places.

I thought of Paris Perfect as well when I saw the title of your post. We stayed in one of their studio apartments 2 years ago and enjoyed our stay with them.

Also look at Haven in Paris: http://www.haveninparis.com/apartments/paris/beds/3
I have not stayed with them but am considering one of their 1-bedroom flats for our next trip.

We stayed in the three-bedroom Palais Royal apartment offered by www.parisvacationapartments.com. PVA has other three-bedrooms as well. Beautiful apartment which was well supplied and working with the agency was easy and pleasant.

We've stayed in the www.parisvacationapartments.com 3 bedroom St Germain Luxury apartment. It was perfect....spacious, well appointed, good location and great agency to work with.

We have stayed in two different 3 bedroom apartments. The first was on Ile St. Louis:

Great location, and has a very nice garden. The linens were tired, the owner is flaky, and the front bedrooms are noisy (garbage trucks early in the morning). When our next reservation (discounted due to no heat on our first trip) ended up doublebooked, we found a nearby aparment, which we found to be much better, plus professionally managed:

The downstairs shower is a bit small - but this is Paris. The view was stunning, and the location is excellent. The only noise we really heard were ambulance sirens, but that somehow added to the ambiance.

We also looked at Paris Perfect, but during our first stay the ones we wanted were booked. Once we arrived, we were very happy to be staying on the Ile vs. the location of the Paris Perfect (at the time, most were near the Eiffel).

BTW, there was an incredible inexpensive Basque restaurant - have managed to lose the card though! If you go to the main street behind the Notre Dame apartment and turn left, it is a few blocks down on the left just before the store that sells candle making & similar supplies.

BTW,

dctraveller, my friend is very taken with the Notre dame view apartment and has sent an email enquiring about it. It looks lovely and gets great reviews. Thanks Cathie

Great! I consider myself a tad bit picky, and we love high end hotels. We and our guests loved the apartment. I could list the negatives (smallish elevator, small shower, on main road). Waking up to my favorite sight in Paris? Central location? Excellent management? Incredibly quiet given location? We can recommend it without hesitation. Many great shops and restaurants nearby (Ile is a very quick walk for pastries and famous ice cream).

Cathies - I stayed at the Notre Dame view apartment earlier this year as well and agree with DCTraveller2 that it is very nice and well managed. The view of course was amazing.

The other place I can highly recommend is the following in St. Germain. It is my favorite and I have stayed there several times and is really great for 3 couples as the rooms are all separated but with a great common space. It is also in a perfect location on a tiny side street over a wine shop (convenient) but right in midst of all the action. This location was much better for my taste because it has so many great shops nearby but I did also love the Notre Dame view apartment for the view!

We rented this apartment:

http://www.specialapartments.com/15_leregrattier.html

Loved the location... not quite as elegant as your other choices (but I think reflected in the pricing).

caveat: there are a lot (and I mean A LOT) of stairs! About 60-70 to enter the apartment and then another 12 or so inside the apartment, another flight from kitchen/living area to 2nd floor (inside) with 2 bedrooms and full bath and then a 3rd floor inside with a full bath. We didn't mind the stairs (except carrying our luggage up the first day) too much ... allowed me to eat an extra scoop of Berthillon!

ftr, I have also stayed at Paris Vacation Apartments and they are fabulous - I would rate that above this - the 3 bedroom wasn't available when we needed it.
