Want biking & hiking suggestions

Jump to last reply

I'd appreciate suggestions on where to bike, hike, and hang out in Slovenia and/or Croatia for a week in mid-July.

You're thinking, only a week? I'm tacking this on to a month in France and Italy with my wife and kids, and a week is all I can manage. But I don't expect to see most of those countries, of course. I just want to enjoy what I do see.

I'm a solid biker but am happier meandering between interesting towns than doing killer rides. I prefer to get around by public transit although I'll rent a car if it really makes sense. I need to rent a bike (perhaps taking it on trains, buses and ferries between rides). I'm a strong hiker but want to be safe hiking solo (i.e., not too remote if no one else is around).

I'm happy to stick to just Slovenia or Croatia; I don't feel compelled to squeeze in both unless that's the best itinerary.

Thanks in advance for any help!
