Visiting Orvieto on the Way from Florence to Rome via Train?

Jump to last reply

This is a followup to my previous question about visiting Orvieto as a day trip from Rome. An alternative would be to stop there on our way from Florence. We could arrive between 11:30 and noon, stay about 4 -5 hours, and arrive in Rome late afternoon or early evening. I will need to check that there is a place to leave luggage at the station in Orvieto. Would this be too rushed and give Orvieto short shrift? It would allow us another full day in Rome. We will be there 4 1/2 days, leaving on the 5th day.

Thanks for your feedback as always!
