Visit to Cote D'Azur in July

Jump to last reply

I have family living in Europe and want to plan a trip which includes visiting then and then car travel to the Mediterranean coast of France.

We would fly into Vienna, visit my Brother living in Bratislava, them travel to Stuttgart to visit our son. After Stuttgart, we'd go to Strasbourg France, pick up a car and head toward the Mediterranean traveling 250 to 300 miles each day.

My questions are: Are there any seaside towns that are bearable in July? I've heard that this is peak season and that prices and crowds go up significantly. We have a school age son and need to travel in the summer, though.

What towns along the way should we try to visit? Colmar looks promising.

I was looking at housing in Hyeres on Trip Advisor. It seemed reasonable. Am I mistaken?
