I'd like to add a stop in Salzburg to our trip from Vienna to Munich. Does a stop in Salzburg make sense for traveling efficiency? Does anyone have any recommendations for a place (efficient to the train as well as attractions to see) to stay - B&Bs or hotels in Salzburg?

You might try typing "Salzburg" into the "Search the Forums" box - I'm sure you'll pull up a great deal of useful information.
You will have to change trains in Salzburg anyway. I would probably arrive at Salzburg in the morning, spend the day there, and proceed to München in the early evening. Salzburg is a small, compact town which is easy to explore. The top attraction is the castle Hohensalzberg which can be reached either on foot or with a tram.
Hi S,

>Does a stop in Salzburg make sense for traveling efficiency?<
Of course not.
It does make sense if you would like a pleasant stop on the way to Munich.
How much time do you have?
