Vienna - Nice Itinerary suggestion?

Jump to last reply

We are flying into Vienna and out of Nice this August (2 adults and a 3 year old).
The plan is to join a few friends in south of France half way through the trip and spend 6 nights in south of France.

Can you suggest an itinerary for getting from Vienna to Nice? We have a total of 7-8 nights for this segment of the trip.

Current plan is:
4 night in Vienna
1 night somewhere close to Linz
2 nights in Salzburg or close by
1 night in Milan or somewhere else to break the drive from Salzburg to Nice

Plan is to rent a car after the 4 nights in Vienna.
I am open to flying as well and Munich-Nice seems to be a logical choice.
Have not really looked at train options but that is an option too.
