Vienna, Musikverin Hall Concert
Want to purchase tickets for Sept.
Does anyone know of a site where you can choose your seat before paying?
I have found several sites where seats will be assigned after you pay. We want superior seats & are willing to pay top $

Just a wild guess, but the purchase of individual tickets may be blocked until all of the 2016/2017 subscriptions have been processed? I'm seeing the dates for general purchase next to some of the performances on the Musikverein website. For example, the general purchase date for the 18 September performances is 3 August.

if you go to the website of the Musikverein itself, you will find that you can choose your seats before you buy.
I checked and there are still seats left for some performances in September:

Aha - four4 - I get you. Those may of course be the concerts that the OP is interested in.
If that is not the case, I see that on 23rd September, there is a concert by the Wiener Philharmonik conducted by Zubin Mater and that tickets go on general release on 3rd August:
http://www.musikverein.at/konzerte/k...&currYear=2016
see you there?

It appears that 3 August is the opening for general ticket purchases, yes.
I am almost ashamed to write that we have perhaps become concert "snobs" over our four years here. Our daughter plays violin, and her instructor, himself a member of a conservatorium, invites us to the small and private venue performances, which we have come to prefer.

Annhig----I checked that site & it's in German, which I don't understand. Is there an English version available?
We were looking for Sept. 20th concert.
Do we have to wait until Aug. 3rd to purchase?

TPAYT - the link I gave you IS the english site - if you open any of the buttons you'll find the information in English. I just checked, and if scroll down to 20th September, and then press on the ticket icon on the right hand side of the box, it all comes up in english [or it does for me!]
looks as if tickets go from €45 to €95 and can choose your own seats or allow the system to choose them for you.
August 3rd was the first day for public booking for the concert on 23rd September which is not one of the Mozart ones that you are interested in so it doesn't apply to you.

well, we all have to start somewhere, four4! I really don't go to concerts at all except when we are on holiday, and then I tend to like the big orchestral works, or choral which I would never go to at home, though i sing in a choir that gives just those sorts of concerts. Don't ask me why, 'cos I can't tell you.
Good luck with your ticket buying, TPAYT.

TPAYT, yes there in an English site, and you can select individual seats for those performances today; those are the standard "tourist" performances. Under musikverein.at the choice of EN, DE, and JP languages are available in the upper right corner.
