Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Victoria in Budapest?
If so, can you send me a picture of the hotel. I can not download/print the info from the internet sight of Fodor's. I need any info on the hotel and near surrounding areas in the city. Thanks, Jim

Sorry I don't know about the Victoria. But in case you're planning to stay there, I have another idea for you: I found a wonderful Bed and Breakfast hosted by a fantastic Hungarian hostess named Kinterne Surek Katalin. I met her at Kaleti Station, where the trains from Vienna arrive. The stay only cost about $14 US / night, and probably aren't much higher now. You can meet a LOT on Hungarians at the train station, who are simply new entrepeneurs (and very good at it) and are trying to get business by renting rooms in their homes. You can call Katalin at (36-1) 272-3283 or 418-1433, or Mobile phone 06-30-514-583.
Her address is:
1158 Budapest XV / Molnar Viktor utca 8 / Hungary.
Be sure to see the Chain Bridge and the market at the east end of the bridge!

My husband & I stayed here for 5 nights a couple of years ago and loved it. The rooms are large and face the river so the view is great. The tram stop is right outside the door. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. Would stay there again and recommend.
pcooper - this post is 13 years old and the OP has probably already taken his trip. aseta120 is topping old threads to give her new phone number.
Stayed here in July 2010. It's a wonderful hotel. 4 star rooms have fantastic picture windows facing the Danube (better on higher floors.) Its on the quieter Pest side of the river. Easy transportation connections -- walk across Chain Bridge or tram and metro close. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful and the breakfast spread was fantastic, including cooked-to-order eggs. I'd highly recommend!
