I will be visiting London during the last three weeks in Dec. DEo the hardier souls in Eng. ride their scooters and motorbikes year round in the U.K., or will I encounter slush, ice and snow on the roadways? Rental information regarding the availability of scooters and motorbikes would also be helpful. Are there mandatory helmet laws in the U.K.? Thanks , Dan Peters aka vespadaddy

Dan, wear that helmet mate, it's the law! Plus you will be glad of it to keep your head warm! People ride scooters/motorbikes year round here but obviously you have to watch the condition of the roads before going out on them although in the last few years the slush and snow hasn't arrived until the new year so you should be ok
