Very Early Morning Departure - Nice cote d'Azur airport

I have a 6:55am departure out of Nice and am unsure whether I should just stay put in my apartment in Old Nice till day of departure or go and check-in at an airport hotel the day before. I am quite familiar with Nice airport but this will be a first time for me to leave this early. The flight is to Zurich. Should I just arrange for a taxi pick-up at ~5am?

Thanks.

Is there a hotel IN the airport? I think there are a couple just outside of the airport - but you may not be able to walk to the airport from them. If so - I don't see the difference between taking a taxi from central Nice, and from an airport shuttle close to the airport. You might have trouble finding a taxi willing to take you from an airport hotel to the airport.

HOWEVER, you said you are staying in Old Nice. IMO, that presents some challenges, There may be delivery trucks and other "things" blocking the way in the morning. You could get "boxed in".

If there is a hotel IN the airport, I would stay there. If not - well - I don't know. BTW, there was a one-day taxi strike when we were in Nice this past June.

Radisson has a hotel at the airport. It used to be a Holiday Inn. I would not take a chance on a taxi from Old Nice at that hour.

We stayed at the airport at the Suite Novotel and were pleased with our room. We took their airport shuttle to make our early flight to Zurich. There are several other hotels nearby as wel and all pf them were less expensive than downtown Nice when we booked.

The Novotel would be a good choice; it's right across from the airport.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Is the Suite Novotel different from or the same as the Novotel Arenas Aeroport?

It is a different property, appeared to be newer construction, and had better reviews. We had a very nice room that overlooked the Phoenix Parc Floral and airport beyond.
