Hello,
We have a flight home on Sat June 7th leaving Venice airport at 6:00am. Our hotel is right near San Marco Sq.....we need to be 2 hrs early for international flight...
1. How long does it take to get to the airport?
2. Is taxi/vaporetto our best option then transfer to bus? or is there a bus we could take direct?
3. What time should we leave do you think to not be rushed?
4. Do buses/trains run all night to the airport?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Naxos

All good questions, NaxosTravels, but I cannot answer. Someone did reply with, "ttt" and what does that mean?
I recall several threads on this same subject just a short time ago. Why don't you try searching this forum by writing "early flight from Venice" into the search box or something like that, and you should find plenty of responses.

Hello. I took the Alilaguna water bus from San Marco to the airport around 6:00 a.m. Judging by their website, it looks like they start running before 4:00 a.m. Check them out at http://www.alilaguna.it/?lang=en
It's an easy route and I think the price was very reasonable. Good luck!
ttt - simply means "to the top" and is just a kind gesture to get a post back to the top of the queue to try to get more responses
Hi, we had a similar flight three years ago, and we also stayed near San Marco. We had to catch a private water taxi around 4:00 a.m.--we rolled our luggage to a small dock on a side canal while it was still dark and just waited, hoping that the taxi the hotel arranged would show. It did, and we arrived with no problem. It cost about $80 then, but there wasn't any other option for us.
...it was kind of neat to watch sunrise over Venice and be one of the only people on the canal.
Last fall we had a 6 AM flight. We were able to walk to the Piazzale Roma where we met a land taxi at 4:15 (arranged by hotel). We got to the airport just before the desk opened and were near the front of the line. We felt we had come at the right time instead of waiting for the first bus at 4:40. We were concerned about this connection but there was no problem and the walk across Venice at 3:45 is a wonderful memory!
Thanks everyone - That gives us a good idea of when we need to be up and out the door! Glad to hear it shouldn't be much of an issue.
Regards,
Naxos
