Looking for ideas on best way to get from Venice to Rimini/Ancona area, then Santorini and back to Venice where we fly out of.
Venice 4 nights+
Le Marche 4 nights+
Santorini/other islands possible 5 nights+
Back to Venice where we retun home from
We do not want to drive. We have been to Italy before so we are fairly familiar with trains. Not as familiar with ferries/cruises, or air travel in between countries.
Thanks for your input.
Venice to Le Marche to Santorini, leave out of Venice

The simplest way from Venice to Rimini are the fast trains changing in Bologna - - hough the much cheaper regional trains tend to be only a few minutes slower. A worthwhile alternative is to spend a night in Ferrara (wonderful city - - all the locals ride bikes, and you can rent one and have a really unique and vivid experience). From Ferrara you can then get to Rimini via Ravenna, which is an easy stopover, has a great center, and the famous mosaics.
