I took this tour in 2005, booking the day before the tour. I am returning to Venice this September. My friends want to take this tour. As it is no longer a secret (they list it on their website), I am wondering how far in advance we need to reserve.

With Walks of Italy I reserved six months in advance as the group is only 12. They can't take any more than that through the Bridge of Sighs. Earlier you book the better.

When I visited early last October I had to book far ahead -- it was either 4 or 5 months out and I got the last opening in my tour. If I'd been traveling w/ someone else we'd have been out of luck. I'd book as soon as your dates are firm.
