Venice: San Barnaba, Barbarigo, or Antico Doge!

Hello everyone, all these three hotels get such great reviews, that I am at a lost as to whether or not to get the junior suite with ceiling fresco at San Barnaba, the Smeraldina or Rosaura at Barbarigo, or splurge and get a suite at Antico Doge. A possibility is to move from one to another to experience both. Anyone with any suggestions? I will be there in December. Thank you!

Su-en -- I assume you are referring to Locanda San Barnaba, just off Campo San Barnaba. We stayed their last November and liked it very much. Our room had a fresco on the ceiling and two small balconies overlooking a small side canal. I would definitely stay there again. Great location. Also several very good restaurants - one on the Campo and at least two straight past the Campo on the same 'street' as the hotel.

Sorry I am not familiar with the other two hotels.
Wherever you stay - Have a wonderful time.

MJ, do you remember your room number and the rate at the Locanda San Barnaba? It's on my list of places to stay when (not if) we return to Venice. Tried to book in March for October last year and they were full.

We have 2 rooms reserved at the Locanda San Barnaba for this month (double superior) at a rate of $170.00 per night including breakfast.
They have been wonderful to work wtih, as we have had to change our reservations a few times over the past few months!

We were deciding between Barnaba and Barbarigo for our trip next week -- ended up choosing San Barnaba after reading the review in NYT. We were bummed that we couldn't get a double superior though -- they only had classic doubles. We're hoping that we can upgrade.....
