Venice in October??
My husband and I want to see Venice. Due to all sorts of scheduling issues, the best times for us are the first and third weeks of October and the first 2 weeks in November. This would be for 2015. Would those dates be ok to visit Venice? I would prefer not too cold (e.g. 60s would be nice, but not 40s). And I imagine it wouldn't be as crowded at it can be in the summer??
Before I start planning, I want to make sure that time period would be ok. Thanks!!

Early October would be much better than November which can be damp and rainy. It might be cold in the evening but daytime should be quite nice. Close to the water will be colder than when sheltered by the buildings.

We went in late November, about the 20th, and it was pretty wet, but not all that cold. I would pick early October, as there is less likely to be acqua alta than later, but acqua alta can be unpredictable.
10th March, two years ago, arrived in Venice and it was SNOWING!
If you click on my user name, you will find several Venice trip reports. We have spent quite a while in Venice.
Have fun planning.
