Venice in Literature

In an interview I read today, Emma Bridgewater said, "There's a Henry James story about being given a box with a key in it to a little pink palace in Venice."

Sounds intriguing but I can't seem to find anything about it.

Can anyone here tell me the name of th Henry James story she refers to?
