Our cruise finishes in Venice and we have about 8 hours available before we need to head to the airport. I have searched the forums for info on Baggage Storage at Piazzale Roma, as this seems a very convenient spot to store luggage between ending a cruise and flying home a feew hours later, but can only find information on storage at the airport and train station. Has anyone used the Baggage Storage at Piazzale Roma? What does it cost? Was it convenient? Was it safe? Do you know their opening hours? I have emailed them and am waiting for a reply but thought I would check to see if anyone has used their facilities.

In connection with my post above :
Found this post from bridgetS in May 09 -
"Deposito Bagagli is located on the West side of Piazzale Roma next to Pullman Bar.
Add'l info: Storage is located near Garage San Marco, cost 4 Euro per piece per day. Open 6 am to 9 pm."
I'm guessing the price may have gone up a bit since bridget's posting but hopefully the storage facility is still there. would love to hear if anyone has used it recently.
Thanks

Thanks for the link ellenem
When my brother-in-law, sister and I were in Venice we ditched our luggage in the storage shop and just took a small bag apiece for our thre nights there as we knew our
B&B was down a warren of little streets and we didn't want to carry anything heavier. We turned in our rental car and left the luggage easily. Just as quickly picked it up on day of departure.
Thanks irishface - good to know
Thanks everyone for your help - the baggage storage worked brilliantly. The cost was Euro 5 per piece of baggage. The Deposito Bagagli is situated between the Pullman Bar and the People Mover building. It does not have big street frontage but it's easy to find.
Thanks so much for coming back to report. It's always nice to see how things work out for folks.
Kaapie - Did you walk with your luggage from the port at Marittima basin to the Deposito Bagagli? If you remember the directions from port could you please send them to me? We need to store our luggage for the day. And do you happen to know if there is easy access to either rail station for later in the day? Thank you!
SWMN - It;s really easy to find. As you exit from the People Mover onto the pavement the baggage storage is a couple of metres along on your left. Be careful not to miss it though as it does not have big street frontage.
The rail station is just across the canal from Piazzale Roma - very easy to access
