Venice will be hosting a portion of the America's Cup World Series in May, 2012. Specifically, the focus seems to be on May 17-20. We will be in Venice on the 17th but had planned to leave that day to travel throughout Italy. Trying to determine what activities, viewing etc. will be going on in Venice on the 17th to determine if we should plan to stay for the day and watch. Does anyone have any links for information ? Thanks

I'm keen to learn about this too.
The official site has a little:

Bookmarking for upcoming trip. Thanks!
Hi,
you can go onboard with us and watch the races very close, more informatione here: http://www.raceandc.com/en/news/25-america-s-cup-in-venice
Enjoy it!
We will be in Venice during this event and I have found a few other web sites and an article below that might be of interest. We are really looking forward to it - looks like it could be a lot of fun! If anyone finds a web site with details of day by day activities and times listed, please post it - we're curious about when and where the ancient boat races might be held. Thanks.

PROGRAM of WORLD SERIES, VENICE VENUE
The races will be in May 2012, the first event will begin Friday 11 with Team training at sea, Saturday and Sunday 12-13 fleet races always start at sea where the teams will compete for one Trophe. On days 14 and 15 is provided rest for the skippers and crews, and then will start again with the challenge of the World Series Wednesday 16! Initially, 16 and 17 will always be sailing at sea and 17 to the end of the day there will be an entry by the 11 catamarans AC45 from the sea towards the Bacino San Marco, Venice's historical place! From Friday, 18 the races will run only in San Marco basin in front of the famous square, which thanks to its natural shape, will pit the races, match racing and fleet racing that will alternate for all three days, until Sunday 20, the last day. Great preparation by the organisation of the World Series, which promises great entertainment for the event side, concerts, racing ancient boats, visits to the base inside the historic Arsenale in Venice, renovated for the exclusive international event.
Does anyone know how this will affect the Vaporetto's schedule? Our hotel is at the Arsenale stop which is in the lagoon where one of the race courses is going to be.
A bit more info but I don't see anything about the Vaporetto's schedule:
