Venice Airport Car Return Center to Water Taxi Shuttle Area

We are dropping off our car at the Car Rental Return and then need to make our way to Hotel Saturnia in several weeks. Does anyone know how to get from the Car Rental Return area to the dock where you get the Water Shuttle? We are considering the public shuttle, orange line to Santa Maria del Giglio stop or pre-purchasing a private group shuttle through Venicelink. Anyone have advice on which is better?

As I recall the car rental return is in the garage. You'd be walking from there to the boat docks. That "walk" is via a semi-"covered" paved walkway which takes about 7-10 minutes FROM the terminal itself.

Which car rental company are you using? I think by shuttle you mean the vaporetto or waterbus. Another but more expensive alternative is a water taxi, which is like a speedboat.

We are renting from Locauto and yes I mean the alilaguna. Thanks for any input on the ease of getting from the car park to the dock and the public vs private group shuttle. We're not interested in spending the money from r a private taxi.

I'm not familiar with Locauto. Do they tell you the drop off location in Venice?

I looks like you're dropping the car at the airport. If so, then the Alilaguna will take you into Venice. However the orange Alilaguna stop closest to your hotel is San Marco. Look at the red Alilaguna route; it stops at Santa Maria del Giglio.

Dukey1 told you how to get from the airport car drop off to the Alilaguna stop. There are also buses from the airport to the Piazzale Roma near the train station.

Most of the car rental offices in Venice are in the Piazzale Roma, just barely in Venice where the causeway from the mainland ends. From there you need to take a vaporetto or a water taxi.
