Venice Airport

What time do we need to leave by water taxi to catch a 11:30 A.M. flight ?
We will be staying near San Marco. Thanks

I would say 8:45 to 9 am. Allow 30 minutes for the taxi to the airport, 15 minutes to walk to the terminal with bags, 2 hours more or less for security and check in. That should allow you time to have a look at dutyfree/newstand/last coffee.

I suggest the water taxi pick you up 1 hour prior to the time you want to arrive at the airport. The airport is small and easy to navigate. If your flight is to a city within Europe, plan to arrive 1-1.5 hours prior to departure. If flying direct to US from Venice, arrive 2 hours prior.

I agree with tarquin except I'm wondering if the taxi doesn't let one off right at the terminal. My DH would say leave at 8:30 just in case of the unknown (he was always early).

No, there is a walk from the water taxi to the terminal unless I am losing it in yet another area of life. Both the bus from Piazzale Roma and an auto taxi stop right at the terminal doors.

Ackislander is right with the short walk arriving by water taxi and Alilaguna lines. Street transport stops directly in front of the entry doors. With the time suggestions of tarquin you should be very comfortable. Security check is quite fast, distances in the airport are very short - near to zero. Departure check -in is in the first floor by the way.

Wish you a good flight, Arved
