VAT refund transferring through CDG

Hello,

We are leaving Rome to Cincinnati via CDG. Since CDG will be my last EU departure country, my VAT needs to be stamped at the CDG or so I have been told. Many merchants have said there is an office within the airport for those with connecting flights. I have never seen such an office and in fact, gave up last time. Has anyone had a similar experience and how was it resolved?

Thank you for any suggestions and assistance.

Finding the correct place (I was transiting in CDG) involved asking several people. No one was sure of the location. By the time I found it, there was a very long line. I, too, gave up.

I still am not sure where I should have had the form stamped. I bought the item in Spain, flew to Lisbon, and departed Lisbon for USA with a transfer at CGD. In Lisbon I was told to have the form stamped at CDG but I am not certain that this was the correct answer.

Sorry I could not help, but it helped ME to vent!

My daughter gets her things stamped at the valencia airport when leaving for cvg via cdg. So far it has worked. The CDG office is almost IMPOSSIBLE to deal with ..I have never seen less than 20 people in line. When connecting I think it is almost impossible to do there.

My experience is similar. I would try turning it in at Rome and if that doesn't work, give it up and forget about the refund.

I like a challenge so a little digging on the CGD website found the following locations:
