VAT in Greece>>Athen (Purchasing of handbags as Tourist)
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how much is the VAT in Greece>>>Athens for the ladies handbag with Brand of Chanel and Louis Vuitton?
Also, as a tourist is there a restriction on 1passport only can purchase 2handbags and 2wallet for this two brand?
We only can do the refund in Airport? Or can do it directly in the Chanel and Louis Vuitton Store?
Does anyone know the price for the below Chanel bags in Athens store?
1) Model: A50994
2) Model: A50319
3) Model: A49271
4) Model: A50276
5) Model: A49853
I wanted to contact Chanel via email to ask on the VAT and Price of the bags but i cannot find their email address. Hope someone here can help me. Thanks alot for your help if you do.

When we were there last (15 months ago?) VAT was 18% but I think they've been raising it, and last year it rose to 23%. I am afraid I cannot help with designer bags - maybe you should email Attica, the big department store in Athens?
VAT refunds are done at the airport but you must get a special receipt from the store where you purchase the items (and you are supposed to carry the items with you in case they ask to see that you are indeed taking them out of the country).
