Val Gardena, Belluno, Bolzano hotel suggestions
Hi,
I am looking for some hotel suggestions for our trip to the Dolomites in late September this year. We were thinking o staying in the Val Gaderna area for 1 night, then driving thru the Dolomites down to Belluno. We are heading down to Venice for a couple of days and then over to Bolzano for a night.
Any hotel recommendations for these towns or even other towns in the area that might make for better stopovers would be great!
Thanks!

That is a strange itinerary. You have 4 hotel destinations here and I see a need for only 2 hotels. Bolzano is close to Val Gardena---why not see both from the same hotel. And, Belluno is on the way to Venice---why stop there?

Hi - We stayed in a wonderful place in the Dolomites in Ortisei.
Family run with 1/2 board. Price very good for the wonderful room, views, food, and hospitality. Would go again in an instant.

The reason this itinerary seems strange is that it's only part of a much larger trip - for this portion we are going to be doing a loop of the Dolomite area - starting in Munich down to Val Gardena then Belluno and Venice and then loop back up to Bolzano via Verona and Lake Garda before heading back to Munich to fly home. I have figured out hotels for the rest of the trip.
Thanks for the Hotel Digon suggestion - I do recall seeing that online. Glad to know you recommend it

Hotel Hanny--We loved this hotel in Bolzano, it's up in the vineyards, about a 10 min walk on a lovely path into town. We had dinner there and the food was also great. http://www.hotelhanny.it/

No hotel suggestions for Bolzano, bu we were there 2 yrs ago and you have to see the ICEMAN Google it and find the museum in Bolzano that has him on display. It was one of the most amazing things we have ever seen. Do not miss it.

My wife and I stayed in Belluno for a night on our honeymoon and, for reasons we don't fully understand, both really liked the place. I can highly recommend Albergo della Alpi, and particularly its restaurant, where we had one of our better meals in Italy . That was 10 years ago, but I suspect things haven't changed much.
