Val du Grace in Paris--anyone been?
I feel a little like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football that Lucy holds. I've tried to see the interior of Val du Grace 3 or 4 times and it's always closed. I've seen pictures and the grounds as well as the interior of the church look quite spectacular. Has anyone been? Does anyone know when it's open or how I can get to see it? Thanks.

Shucks. When I saw that I'd gotten one reply my heart leapt--only to be dashed again to find that there are other Charlie Browns out there with similar experiences. Jody I promise to let you know if I make it this time. Last time I actually got through the gate before I was called back and told that only staff were allowed to enter. I'm getting closer.

I'd suggest sending a message to the Paris tourist office; they are usually quite responsive to queries. BTW, it's Val dE Grace.
The web address is
www.paristouristoffice.com
That's where I finally was able to find out where the memorial garden for Diane, Princess of Wales is located.
Good luck!

I'll keep my fingers crossed. I can empathize, because it took us 3 tries before we finally got to see the Matisse chapel in Vence when it was actually open, which was not the same as when it was supposed to be open.
