Urgent/ASAP help needed for today's mess at JFK!!!!

I was supposed to be going to Greece today with my daughter and now all the flights out of ORD are either cancelled or we can not get on because of cancellations. I am desperately trying to see if we can get to a major European city and then get to Athens from there. My questions are: does anyone have a website for various airports in Europe that you can actually book from other than the regular airlines? I was trying to see if there were any cheap airlines from either Milan,Paris or Frankfurt that I could use. I would try and wait till tomorrow to go but my hotel and other reservations are going to start costing me money otherwise. Thanks so much for any info!

In Italy, I know of airlines Ryanair.com, meridiana.it, and of course Alitalia.

You can also check for your itinerary in whichbudget.com, which gives you a full list of budget airlines that flight your itinerary.

Good luck!

Walk up / last minute fares for most budget airlines are usually NOT budget and often cost more than the full service carriers.

Losing a day or 2 of your hotels might actually be cheaper than booking new tickets. Sorry about the mess - good luck.

Thanks for the tips everyone-it ended up that most of the international flights were cancelled out of JFK today so I quess there was not much one could do. I am hoping that there is still room on the flight for us tomorrow? I did check out some of those websites and most either did not operate to Greece or they did not have available flights. But I am filing them for future use........heres hoping that we are drinking some ouzo by Sunday night?

Hi dutyfree, aren't you a FA on International flights for whatever airline you work for? I am surprised that your airline couldn't help you..if they can't no help for the rest of us, lol. I sure hope your trip to Greece with your daughter works out. Take care.
