URGENT HELP NEEDED: French Rivieria one day

our cruise docks at Monte Carlo. Two couples hiring private tour & we are down to putting deposit (date is 9/16 so this is URGENT)

We think we want Cannes & Nice. One person cannot climb up to Eze due to back issues, but other couple wants to see.

We wanted to see Cannes (already giving up St. Tropez due to distance).

Fodorites: What is not to be missed?

Cannes looks like FT. Lauderdale to me.
But, Nice is nice.

Nice would be my choice. You could add Antibes, but there is so much to see in Nice.

I think Cannes is too far and Cannes and Nice are both large towns. If you need two towns maybe pick a smaller one to go with Nice.

If you have a driver you can find places to go that you won't have to climb to get to.

I'd let the driver plan the route. Sit back and enjoy!

I liked both Cannes and Nice but we were walking most of the time. Drove into Cannes and then into Nice and dropped the car there. Are you interested in perfume? If so, perhaps Grasse.

You don't have to climb up the path to Eze, your driver can take you there. You can go to Nice and Eze.

Or combine Nice with St Paul de Vence; lovely small town, and you can visit the Fondation Maeght just outside St Paul as well.

Or go to Cannes and add Mougins, if you want a small village. Cannes/Antibes would be good too.

I wouldn't do Cannes and Nice - Nice would need much more time. You can ask your driver to take the route along the bord de mer and drive through Nice, if there is time.

Don't underestimate driving times; driving into Cannes can be one big traffic jam.
