I have been saving up United Frequent Flyer miles for my trip to France and I just found out that they don't have non-stop from Los Angeles (LAX) to Paris France. Is that true? Someone told me that maybe they have non-stop seasonally, some of the time. Has anyone any information about this?

How did you "find this out?" Did you look at the website united.com?

Just browsing Google Flights for July, I see no United non-stops from LAX. And "seasonal" flights would presumably be going in the summer.

So I'd say that yes, you are correct - no non-stop flights LAX-CDG at the moment.

You can fly direct to London or Frankfurt (via Star Alliance partner Lufthansa) and connect to Paris. Personally, I would prefer that vs. connecting in the US, because then I don't have to worry about flight delays in the US at a connecting city. If I get to Europe in the morning after an overnight flight, at least I have all day to get to my destination in the case of delays.

If you can't get a good connecting flight to Paris with United miles, you can always book the connecting flight on your own (or even take the Eurostar from London to Paris - probably not cheap, makes more sense if you would like to stop in London first.) You might find super cheap flights from London to Paris but beware that you might need to change airports in London, something I would avoid.

They offer many flights -- just not non-stop.

There connect through SFO, or IAD or EWR or any number of other hubs.

Take a quick flight to SFO and fly from there.

SFO layover, if it is in the morning, is a bad idea in case you haven't flown into or out of SFO in the morning.

Unfortunately, if you are flying on miles, the airline is unlikely to give you a sought after direct flight into any European airport.

This is brilliant if you actually want to stopover in London. We just did this and if you book far enough ahead its about 50 bux. Saves a lot of time on both ends. Immigration is done on the front end
