Two weeks Venice to Nice direction - suggestions?

Jump to last reply

I have two weeks to travel between Venice and Nice. Can be by train or rental car.

Will have two children with me - aged 10. They like a bit of everything and are well-traveled (used to museums, know when to be patient, adventurous eaters, etc.)

Have spent time in Lucca, Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa area before and can skip that this time. Want to focus on the north. 2-3 stops max because Venice will take 2-3 days and do not want to rush. What would you recommened?

Also, is Verona miserable crowded during the opera festival?

Thank you so much for your help!
