I only have two weeks to visit Denmark and I don' t know which places I should visit... Can you please help me by informing me aboyt the most popular sigtseeings in order to visit them during my stay...???

I'm answering this to take it to the top for you, but, I was in Copenhagne about a year and a half ago, and suggest you allow a few days for that city. I would say three would be fine, there are also day trips you can take from the city, but I didn't do that so sadly I can't advise. You might try putting Denmark and Copenhagen into the search box and prior posts will come up. There have been posts in the past that may have some information for you to look at while you are waiting for answers here.

There aren't as many posts about Scandanavia as say France or Italy, but there have been threads, so see what you can bring up. I loved Copenhagen by the way, and it's very comfortable there, no one expects you to speak Danish and almost everyone speaks perfect english.

Short day trips from Copenhagen:

Helsingor - 'Hamlet's Castle' (aka Kronberg Castle) in a stunning location on the straits

Louisiana Museum of Contemporary Art and Statue Park in Humlebaek near Helsingor

Fredericksborg Castle - the Danish Versailles - lovingly sitting on a lake
and often called Denmark's finest Renaissance structure

Roskilde - Danish capital for centuries before Copenhagen - Cathedral is burial place of Danish monarchs and Viking Ship Museum on the fjord

Bakken, just out of Copenhagen is the world's oldest amusement park - for all ages - concerts comedy acts, etc. all free (not rides) - nearby Deer Park is also lovely.

and Round the Sound is a favorite of mine - train from Copenhagen across the striking new bridge-tunnel across the Sound to Malmo - nothing much here but change trains or drive onto Lund, one of the very nicest cities in Scandinavia - great cathedral and university in campus-like setting - then onto Helsingborg, Sweden to hop ferries to Helsingor (Hamlet's castle) and back to Copenhagen by train or road.

Gillelje (sp?) cute old inter-urban train goes to this fishing village on north coast of Zeeland (Copenhagen area) and then another quaint train, the Gilleljebahn along coast to Helsingor

Well these are places i visited and liked (didn't go to Legoland however)

I assume you are renting a car? You will not need it in Copenhagen- in fact it will be in the way, parking is hard to find. We spent 6 days in Copenhagen and then rented a car on our way out of the city and had no trouble driving around at all. I should mention we took the train to Kronborg Slot ( Hamlet's Castle) in Helsinger. It was about an hour ride and the castle was an easy 15- minute walk from the train station. The train station also connets to a ferry and you can take a 20 minute ride across the ocean to Helsingborg, Swedon. You can tour Kronborg in the AM, and then spend the afternoon in Sweden, returning to Copenhagen that night. A nice day trip.

I would suggest a few places on the island of Fyn. Get off the major highway. The little towns are so quaint and the views of the ocean magnificent. We enjoyed Egeskov Castle, built in the middle of a lake, wonderful gardens and Valdomars Castle. Then we took the ferry to Aero Island and spent one night there at the town of Aeroskobing. I would have liked to spend more time there. Besides great shops and nice places to eat the island is trying to be energy selfsufficent and a drive or bike ride around the island is interesting. We particulary enjoyed a hike along the ocean at Voderup Klint. We left Aero at the town of Soby and took the ferry to Faaborg. Its a very old town, cute shopping district.

I have heard some of the museaums in Odense are really good but we didn't have time to visit Odense.


My daughter had been to Legoland and didn't like it either, so we skipped it. I sometimes wish we would have gone, just to say we had been there.

In Copenhagen we really loved Tivoli Gardens, Rosenborg Slot, Nyhavn, Rosenborg Slot, Round Tower, the resistance museum Frihedsmuseet and since I had two teenage daughers along, we spent tons of time shopping and stolling at Stroget. Everything is close together, we walked everywhere except we took a water taxi to get to the Resisance museum. The water taxies, buses and trains all use the same ticket, you can switch back and forth from one mode of travel to another, even on the same punch of your ticket. The punches are good for 1 hour.

Around the Copenhagen area you might also want to go to Dragor, Maybe 20 minutes from Copenhagen, We ate at a wonderful restaurant there, small town, it's right on the corner overlooking the harbor. Cute shops.

My daughter really liked the chalk cliffs on the island of Mon.

Yeh - the S-Tog is a great way by train to reach all sights i mentioned because that's how i got there.

And be sure to look into the Strip Cards or whatever they call them that provides inexpensive train travel all over Copenhagen and Zealand the area around it. KlipKart i guess or something like that - you clip the appropriate number of zones for each destination.

I never really understood those clip cards with the trains/buses/water taxi. There were 4 of us and my oldest daughter had already been in Copenhagen for 9 months, so, we had one card and she just took care of the machine. So I never really tried to understand how she figured it out.

I do know sometimes when we had to switch trains or modes of travel to get to our desired destination she would make us run and hurry so we could get the travel all in before the hour was up.
