Two Weeks in Brittany-Thoughts on our Itinerary

Jump to last reply

We are traveling to Brittany for two weeks in mid-September. The motivation for making this long-awaited trip is the wedding of friends. We plan to rent a car and are keen to explore as much of the beauty, history, and charm of Brittany as possible in the time allowed, without trying to cram in too much. This is the plan:

Day One: Land CDG early morning drive to Fougeres via Vitre. Visit Vitre, stay in Fougeres.

Day Two: Visit Fougeres, Mt. St. Michel and Cancale (Sentier des Douaniers). Stay in Dinan.

Day Three: St. Malo, Combourg. Stay in Dinan.

Day Four: Emerald Coast, St. Briec, Fort La Latte, Paimpol. Stay in Lannion.

Day Five: Granite Coast, Treguier, Chats' la Roche-Jagu and de Tonquedoc. Stay in Lannion.

Day Six: Carantec walk, St. Pol de Leon (view), Cote des Abers. Where would you stay?

Day Seven: Chat. de Kerjean (closed on day five), Landerneau, Daoulas, La Martyre. Where would you stay?

Day Eight-Nine: Stay in Concarneau. Visit Quimper, Pont L'Abbe, Abbey Landevennec, Kernascleden, Quimperle.

Day Ten: Wedding. Stay in village where reception is taking place, Bubry.

Day Eleven: Morning crepes w/ wedding guests. Travel south to stay in Auray or Vannes for two nights. Where would you stay?

Day Twelve: Twelve: Carnac, Josselin, Vannes

Day Thirteen: meander back toward Paris and CDG for a morning flight on day 14. Stay somewhere en route.

Thank you for any advice or suggestions you may be able to provide on places to stay/towns to stay in and perhaps also on things that you really enjoyed seeing during your trips that may be a bit off the beaten path. Of course, I'm open to comments on anything at all to do with this trip. We are so looking forward to it!

Many thanks!
