I will be in germany and austria with a girlfriend. is it ok to be out at night in the big cities? any advice? how are the people? thank you.

My friend and I have the same concerns, as we're planning to go to Europe for the better part of the summer. We'll be 18..is this too 'young'? We've both travelled overseas before and live in a fairly big city, so we know the risks.

You will be fine if you remember one thing: take off the rose colored glasses. Don't trust men just because they have the attractive accent. Don't accept iffy invitations just because you are on vacation. Use the same precautions that you would at home. I am speaking from experience. Remember this, and have a great trip!
