Two meals in Rome - need help
The wife and I are headed to Rome this weekend for an airline mileage run. We will arrive on Saturday at noon and our flight leaves on Sunday at 7am. That will give us to meals in Rome. We are staying at the Sheraton Roma outside of town, so we are tied down to a specific location.
We would like a couple of places that have good simple italian fare. Gnocchi, risotto, our pretty much any handmade pastas are our favorites.
We are open as far as price range as well.
Gelato recs would be great too.
Thanks!

Lived in Rome for four months - for gelato, definitely head to Millennium, right outside of the Cipro metro station (and near the Museo Vaticano). It is absoultely the best in Rome - try nociotella (hazelnut), pistachio, or bacio! They are very generous with the portions also.

On the Monday morning after the trip, you can casually say to your co-workers who ask what you did over the weekend...Oh I just took a little ride to Rome.
If anyone wants to learn about mileage runs, then check out Flyertalk.com. Its amazing how many people do this.

Yes platz, I have frequented Flyertalk for the past 5 or so years. Just picked up a $0 fare to Acapulco!
My initial message should say "two" meals and we "aren't" tied to a specific location.
