Two days in Salzburg week before Christmas

Jump to last reply

We are staying outside of the city and plan on driving in for 2 days. We have children with us and I am trying to figure out ahead of time where everything is so we can plan better. Does this sound doable?

Day one: Start in Mirabel Gardens, walk over bridge to old town center for markets and sight-seeing (including Mozarts birth place.) We are huge Sound of Music fans so we would like to visit some of the sites on our own. Is the Felsenreitschule near the Altstadt? Are you allowed to stop and visit?

2nd day we would start with the fortress and visit the Abbey on the way down. Then I would like to visit the Hellbrunn Christmas market before heading home.
