Two Days in Prague

Dear All,

I am attending an international conference in the last week of November in Leipzig and after the conference, have two whole days with me. I plan to go to Prague. My wife is accompanying me.

Can you pls help me with some suggestions as to 'What not to miss' in Prague . What we can do in two days.

we also do not have a big budget and would prefer to stay in a hostel.

Look forward to some great suggestions...

Thanks,
Nitish

Check out walking tours form the Town Hall. We did an architectural tour of the Old Town led by an expert from the university and the price was VERY modest - and the group only 7 people - fascinatng.

<<we also do not have a big budget and would prefer to stay in a hostel.>>

State your budget. Prague is less expensive than Germany or Austria. You may be able to do more with your money.

Good ideas given above.

You cannot go wrong in Prague, because everywhere you turn there is something to see.

it will be a little cool at that time of year, so dress warm and start walking Prague is a walking city.

And as nytravler said check out the walking tours , because unless you do your homework.... walking is fine but you have to know what you are looking at also.

Dear All, Thank you for the suggestions. They indeed are very helpful to us. Our budget should be about 120 euros a day including food and accomodation.

Hope it suffices.

Thanks,
Nitish

Let us know where you are staying once booked and we can see if we can find some places to eat cheaply nearby which really is not difficult.

as to your budget, I presume that for 2 of you.You should be ok on that as long as you don't go too heavy on your accommodation. That time of year tends to be a good bit cheaper. I usually stay in the Dejvicka area of the city and use the Metro or trams to get around (a 24 hr ticket costs about 4 Euros)The public transport system is superb so worth considering something out of the city centre as long as it is near a tram or metro stop.

Dear All,

Thank You for your suggestions...I now need some more suggestions : We leave from Leipzig to Prague on 30th Nov morning. I have booked Hotel Salvator in Prague Truhlarska 10

I was supposed to stay for two full days in Prague, but my travel agent goofed up on the return ticket from Frankfurt and now my schedule is as follows :

Day 1 - Reach Prague by 3 pm....Have the evening free

Day 2 - Whole Day Free for sightseeing

Day 3 - Free for sightseeing/ Travel to Frankfurt in the afternoon and reach at night, stay there and do a 2 to 3hr sightseeing on Day 4

Day 4 - My flight from Frankfurt is at 1400 hrs

I need help....how can i plan my Day 3 ?

- Will i be able to cover all main sights on Day 2 itself ? and i leave on Day 3 to frankfurt in the afternoon, stay overnight and see little of frankfurt on Day 4 ?

- Spend the 2nd day also sightseeing in Prague and take a overnight Train/ Bus to frankfurt so that i cover up on travel and also save on hotel cost.?

- How comfortable is the over night bus from Prague to Frankfurt >

Im really confused and need help....Thank in advance for your suggestions...

this link will let you see most of the major sights and you should be able to do them in a day.
sorry can't help with the trains, but if you need to leave your bags then the station has lockers and a left luggage area.
