TVG train Paris to Bordeaux

TVG train Paris to Bordeaux
My husband and I are going to Southwest France spring 2006. WE have 1 guide book that says the fast train to Bordeaux can be picked up at the TVG train station at the Paris airport (Charles De G). I have been into several web site for train schedules but can not find any information on trains to Bordeaux leaving from the airport station. Does anyone have any information as if you can truely get the TVG to Bordeaux from the Paris airport? Thank you.

Yes, I take this train with some regularity. There are usually lots of trains going each day. You can get schedules and prices at www.sncf.com

I have just tried to find a train from CDG to Poitiers (it is on the way to Bordeaux) and the procedure is indeed frustrating.
Here is how I finally managed to get it.
1. Go to this web page:
http://www.sncf.com/indexe.htm
On the left site click on: "Information Schedule and Booking".
On the next window in the "Leaving from
quot; space type in "Airport CDG 2 TGV"
and in the "Going to" type in Bordeaux. Select the dates and the time of departure andyou should get a few choices to select from. PROVIDED that your dates are NOT further out than 2 months! When I started planning back in June I had no luck either.
I have not been able to find an actual SNCF train time table. Perhaps someone else can enlighten us where to find it.
For example I would like to know the stations where the TGV stops on its way back from Bordeaux to CDG.

From SNCF or the excellent search engine at bahn.de, one can find 4 direct trains from CDG-TGV to Bordeaux. At 8:54, 13:54, 15:42 and 19:11. Some trains are faster than others.
If you want to know the stops the trains make, try bahn.de. The stop at CDG is called "Paris-CDG TGV", or "Paris Aeroport-CDG TGV".

thanks for this very useful tip.
The German Rail web site is a lot more informative than the French. I tried to get a TGV schedule from CDG to La Rochelle but had no luck. Worked like a charm on the bahn.de site!
Too bad that one cannot order tickets there for SNCF trains.

Just wanted to mention that I've never been on a CDG-Bordeaux train that was on the slow track from Tours to Bordeaux. The only slow part of the ride was from CDG to Paris. After that - WHOOSH!

cn3: I've taken the TGV from Biarritz to Paris and return. It leaves from and ends at Montparnasse Station.
Suggestion...don't miss the old, one-time elegant Biarritz..it still is old and elegant, with beautiful ocean views..and here's a tip for outstanding lodgings just three miles south of town in the little beach town of Bidart. The Villa L'Arche...with balconies overlooking one of the finest stretches of white sand beach in all of France. A bit of heaven, with steps leading down to the beach which appears like a lunarscape with the oddest rock croppings...
If you decide to drive the 90 miles to Bilbao and the Guggy, let me know and I'll fill you in on an amazing one-of-a-kind site between Bilbao and San Sebastian....The Painted Forest (El Bosque Pintado).

The high-speed line from Paris ends at Tours. TGVs travel at 186 mph from Paris to Tours, then slow down to 100 mph (or less) for the rest of the journey because they are running on an old line which is not suitable for high speeds and is shared with slower trains.
