Tuscany to Amalfi Coast - Where to drop off rental car
Hi there - I know this has been posted many times but looking for updated rec's. Driving from Tuscany to Amalfi Coast (staying in Praiano) in Sept. No desire to keep car on coast, where should we drop off after drive from Tuscany? Sorrento, Salerno, Naples? Looking to hire driver then to get to Praiano so any suggestions there as well would be lovely. Trying to make it as easy as possible without too many handoffs and transportation changes. Thanks!

Prainao is a bit closer to Sorrento than Salerno it seems and thus cheaper I would think - there are also boats between Sorrento to Praiano and of course the world-famous Amalfi Coast buses. On the drive down from Naples you could easily stop by Heraculeam or Pompeii, smack right on the way to Sorrento.

I would drop at the Naples airport and have the driver pick you up there. Traffic in/around Sorrento has been bad the last couple of visits (including 2 weeks ago). We always use Sergio Rianna to take us from Naples to Positano. You can email him at [email protected].

Hi Ep,
I would drop the car in Salerno and then take the ferry to Positano.
From there, pick up the orange bus to Praiano.
If you have too much luggage, you can take the bus from Salerno to Praiano via Amalfi. This takes you along the Coast Road.
Enjoy your visit.
