Turkey Itinerary Help

My husband and I will be travelling to Turkey at the end of the month for a friends wedding in Istanbul. After a lot of research of all the posting...I would appreciate some help with some final decision on our itinerary:

Capadoccia Area (4 days)-
Garisamu or Esbelli Evi?
Rent a Car or book a tour?

Coast (4 days) -

Gulet (Fethiye to Marmaris) or By Car? I originally wanted to go to Kalkan/Kas but taking the gulet would leave no time...mistake? Any suggestions on good gulets?

Istanbul (4 day) -
Which One?:
Swissotel (euro141/night)
Marmara (euro115/night)
Divan (euro71/night)

We have to stay in Taksim because of wedding. We are in our early 30s, traditionally backpackers and like the unique and boutique. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would go to ESBELLÝ and rent a car instead of bookin a tour because you can get a change to see more.

Get a GULET ýnstead of renting a car drýve on the coast. GULET would be best in that area (is you driving from Antalya.

Ýstanbul hotel

Ýf you get high floor in Marmara you will love it because Hotel is in the center of actions (TAKSÝM)

HAVE A NÝCE TRÝP

You are so lucky!!! My husband and I stayed at the Esbelli Evi 2 years ago and loved it. The staff is wonderful and so thoughtful. We were booked into a tour ,but had different accomodations from the rest of the tour due to the fact I had requested to stay in a cave hotel.Try to schedule one of the hot air ballon rides while you are there.
We found our tour guide to be very knowledgable and it was a small group of just 8 people. Our tour was booked with Tridab Tourism. their website is WWW.tridab.com

Coast:
We did not have the time to book a gulet, but heard great things about the gulets. In fact when we go back in two years from now, we intend to book into a gulet. If you live in a city that has a Turkish immigrant population check into a local travel agent that specializes in Turkey. We found Artun Travel in Chicago was very helpful and recommended many wonderful places to see.

Istanbul:
Can't help with those hotels as we stayed closer to the Blue Mosque in family hotel. The hotel is the Sari Konak Hotel. The staff there recommended some great restaurants which were for the locals not so much for tourists.
I envy you the trip and can't wait until I go again. Have a great time.

I second who ever said you were lucky! Wish we could go back soon. We did a short (4 day) gulet from Antalya to Kas about 4 years ago. If you drive the roads are like mountain passes, very swirly and steep. The gulet was booked from Pasha tours. Key Tours also had a similar gulet. I hear you can just go down to the marina and book on site, but I wanted it arranged and paid for before we left the states. All 3 of your stops are truly magical, very different from each other and you will never have a vacation even remotely like it again. Have fun.

It is true , if you are adventurous you can go down to the marina and book a gulet. You will probably save money this way also. We saw quite a few boats looking for work when we were in Bodrum.
Have fun.

Too bad you're insisting on Taksim...there is a hotel in Sultanahmet that would suit your tastes (as you describe them) perfectly. The Kybele...it's small, unique, and unusual. Not too expensive either.

Hi Tata777,

4 days Cappadocia is good if you organise well thats perfect. Esbelli is Good, Gamirasu is a bit far out if no problem. Rent a car is good but take a guided tour anyway.

Gulet can be taken in Kalkan as well. Do not skip this part. Good Gulets starts from 1000 Usd. daily and up.

Between your choices of Hotels: Swiss

Have a Great Time in Turkey
