Turkey: Goreme to Konya Caravanserai Restaurant

I am looking for a Caravanserai that has been converted into a restaurant, somewhere after Sultanhani town on the drive from Goreme to Konya. I have seen a few blogs of people mentioning doing this but no name of the restaurant or exact location... Or alternatively anywhere nice to stop for lunch along this route. Thanks in advance

didn't come across anything much on the long, lonely highway from Cap into Konya...but did run across a very good lamb barbecue spot just on the outskirts of Konya...loudspeaker blasting Frank Sinatra music. Can't recall name, didn't write it down...nothing anywhere near it...stands alone. Equally sparse between Konya and the Lake District until you get into Egidir.

I've visited most of the hans along that road and the only one that I know of that is a restaurant is the one in Konya, Horozlu Han - http://www.horozluhan.com/index.asp

It looks like they occasionally hold weddings at Zazadin Han - http://photos.wikimapia.org/p/00/01/91/75/66_big.jpg

That photo of Zazadin is probably the opening ceremony after renovation:

"The newly-renovated han was opened to Konya by the organization of a joint wedding ceremony for 35 couples in its walls on May 25, 2008, a symbolic and inspirational setting for these young newlyweds to take their first steps together. The project was opened to the world on June 12, 2008, by an official dinner and concert by famed pianist Tuluyhan Uğurlu, held in conjunction with the 11th World Conference of Historical Cities which took place in Konya, attended by over 700 participants." - http://www.turkishhan.org/zazadin.htm

You've got me puzzling about this now, dollybee.

I've found a blog where one is mentioned:
"Further along the road to Konya, we stopped at another caravanserai for lunch. This one was smaller, covered and had been made into a restaurant." - http://hgriggs.org/turkey/day10.html

Maybe get in touch with the writer, hgriggs, there's a contact email address on that webpage.

I can't imagine where it is, maybe it's not one of the Seljuk hans, and historically more recent. I see there's another one on the Beyşehir road on the outskirts of Konya that's been coverted into a restaurant, Dibidelik Han. I must have gone right past that one a couple of times without realising it was there, now on my to-do list.

Thank you so much for your replies and insight into what to expect on the journey. The Horozluhan restaurant looks exactly what we are looking for, maybe not for lunch but that's OK. I'll try to contact the writer of the blog as well to see if they have a name. Thanks again, this is my first forum entry and I'm really grateful for your replies.
