Trying to pick country/countries for next trip

Jump to last reply

Hi everyone. My wife and I are in the process of planning our next European trip for later this year. I am hoping to get some input on some must see countries that we should consider. We'll be traveling from the U.S. and typically go for about 10 days.

We have taken separate trips to Italy, Spain, and France. Last year we went to Prague, Vienna, and Budapest as part of the same trip.

Thus far in our travels France and Hungary have been our favorite. France for its cuisine, chateaus, sights, ambiance, etc. Hungary for its culture, cuisine, and history. We really liked some of rougher edges that Hungary had to offer.

Our main interests tend to be history (castles, historical museums, monuments, palaces), great food, shopping, and just immersing ourselves in the local culture.

We're currently considering Scandinavia (Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo), Turkey and possibly Greece. I've also seen some amazing pictures of Slovenia and Croatia, so those are also of interest. We also considered Poland as part of our last trip but didn't have the time.

Basically looking for some input on what others think! All suggestions welcome. We'd be willing to do the entire trip in 1 country, or do 4-5 days in 2 countries.

Thank you!
