Trying to find a cheese shop in Tuscany
OK, this is a real stretch.
When in Tuscany and staying at Terre di Nano 4 years ago we stopped at small farm type cheese shop in the country, we think somewhere near Castello Banfi, Abbazia di Sant' Antimo ~ they had the best Pecorino! On a back road on a little curve, sat slightly uphill (or so my aging memory tells me!)
So if anyone out there found a great cheese shop in the area let me know, maybe it's the same one! We are headed back to Tuscany and would love to find it..

Personally, I'd go home via the Mercato Centrale in Florence rather than trudge round Tuscany's backroads on the offchance you'll find the same farm again.
Like any city-centre market, a fair amount of crap: but a great deal easier to find (by just asking to taste) a really good slice of any local cheese you care to name.
