Trouble Getting from Tours to Orly
Hi All,
We need to get from Tours to Orly on Sunday Sept 10th. SNCC & TGV show no trains going, this seems strange. Car companies show no offices open for drop off cars at Orly on Sundays. Any suggestions? We are taking a flight to Madrid Sunday afternoon so no flexibility there. Hi to all my old pals.

There are plenty of trains from Tours to Paris (Montparnasse) on the 10th, but I don't think there were ever trains between Tours and Orly. If a car rental office is closed, you drop off the keys and the insurance folder in the drop-off box.

No trains go to Orly, ever, it doesn't have a SNCF rail station. I really don't understand what you are thinking. Did you just assume all airports in France have attached rail stations?
There are oodles of trains all day from Tours to Montparnasse, they take about an hour. From Montparnasse, You can either take the Air France bus (which I have done), or take the metro to Denfert Rochereau, it's on the same rail line (line 4 or line 6) and then take Orlybus OR just take a taxi from MOntparnasse now that the fixed fares are so low.
Say take the 9:00 TGV, get to MOntparnasse by 10, then take a taxi and you'll get there by 11 for sure.

Instead of Tours try St-Pierre-des-Corps the mainline station for Tours with many more trains to Paris - there is an Orly Airport station but it is outside the airport on its southern side and part of an RER line and a hassle to use - best to take train SPC to Montparnasse -return car if can and take the metro/OrlyVal to the airport or of course taxi.
Or see if S-P-Corps car rentals (opposite station) have drop-offs on Sunday.
