Tromso, Norway self catering?

4 of us (2couples) are planning to go to Tromso from the 28th to the 31st of January 2013. We are hoping to find self catering accomodation but I am not having much luck. There are some Cabins/homes with 4 bedrooms but unless we pay extra to book the whole house there is a chance of sharing with other people (usually there is just 1 bathroom for the whole house). There are some small apartments in town - one bed and a small sofa bed - which I think is too small for 4 adults - we could get 2 apartments but we really wanted to be together.

We also are not sure if we want to be in town, or out of town. Out of town would probably be easier for finding a small cabin but we won't have a car and most of the tours/sightseeign we want to do start in Tromso.

Any suggestions for self catering and town versus out of town would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
