Trip to Montenegro in the Fall

Planning a trip to Montenegro by way of Vienna in early Fall. Have never been there before. Any tips, places that we must see? Plan to stay about a week in Montenegro, will rent a car.

Well, drive carefully. Some roads in the mountains are hair-raising.

I wish you a safe trip. The mountains are breath-taking, yet dangerous. If you are planning on visiting the southern coast of Montenegro you may want to check out my website: www.visitsandymontenegro.com Good luck and drive safely.

I'm sure that the usual suspects...Perast, Budva, Sveti Stefan, and Kotor...will be on your list as well they should be, but I would also recommend Durmitor Park for incredible scenery. Also you might take the time to go to Podgorica which is ugly, but VERY different in feel than the coastal Montenegrin towns.

it is beautiful
unkempt in many places and seems way behind croatia as far as repairs and general cleanliness
but the we loved the natural beauty

kotor and the drive up to it from perast is gorgeous
