Trip to CPH - Connection time in Oslo?

I posted another question about a connection in Reykjavik, but that flight ended up not working for us, so forgive me if anyone is reading this thinking "didn't she already post this question?".

We are looking at an SAS flight from Newark, connecting thru Oslo, to CPH. The connection time is 55 minutes in Oslo which seems INSANE.
Does anyone have any experience with this particular airline/airport as far as connections go? Both flights are operated by SAS.

Thanks!!

What matters the most is whether you are buying your ticket as EWR-CPH. OSL is just a way point added by SAS's convenience.

OSL is a tiny airport by international standard. You will "likely" to make your flight easily.

What the airline is obliged to offer is to get you to CPH close to the schedule. Your actual flight is "likely" to be what your ticket says. Many people fret about certainty of flying as stated.

The airline has more latitude.

Suppose you take EWR-OSL-CPH flight and you miss the connection. You EWR-CPH as one reservation ensures SAS is obliged to take you to CPH on their dime. This is meaningless unless there are alternate flights. But OSL-CPH is like their shuttle route. There is practically one flight every hour.

Suppose even before you board your plane at EWR that there is a foul up to delay your CPH arrival. SAS has a latitude to change your flight via Stockholm, for example, to get you to CPH close to your scheduled arrival.

From US and entering Schengen area you will have to go through passport control. There can be quite a long queue there especially with a non-European passport. After passport control there is a transfer short-cut to international departures - looks like you have to go through a security check, but I have never seen queues there.
55 minutes is a bit iffy if you are last off the plane and hit a long queue at passport control however If this is one through ticket then you have no worries as the airline will put you on next available flight and there are frequent flights to CPH.

Norwegian connects these cities nonstop for less than half the price of SAS (from JFK) why not go that route? What was wrong with Icelandair?

You may not be the first person in history to fly from NYC to CPH via Oslo but it is possible.
