Trip Report Trip to Alacati-Cesme, Izmir to Check August 30 Wedding Venue

Jump to last reply

This suddenly came up. We had guests for dinner and Eser had need of the bunionoscopy surgeon to see her feet at the eight week mark. Yet, she had bought the tickets for us and the VW SW for the 7 AM ferry to Bandirma already. Now, almost midnight; the suitcases about ready; final minutes before laptop goes in its case.

As usual, I am positive that we did not pack everything we should have.

We are staying at Chigdem Boutique hotel where we have rooms reserved for us and many others during the August wedding of our older daughter who has waited too long for this occasion.

The wedding will be at Solto hotel. We shall investigate that blocation also and visit a few interesting unique sites an antique ruin or so like Teos, eat some special Aegean wild Spring greens, posibly visit a few pharmacies (as we usually do on trips) and get back to lake home in Nicea before hitting Istanbul and the cats again.

There is enough dog and cat food in the car and two nice subs specially prepared at Namli deli today to help us along the first few hours of our seven hour drive after the two hour ferry.

We do not expect anything exciting on the way except possibly some new items at the Akhisar antique shop next to the famous meat ball restaurant.
